About the Event

DEAR ARTIST:

You are invited to participate in the 47th Annual Northern Juried Art Show in Thompson. It is an opportunity to enter your work into competition and have a written critique from jurors who are Manitoban professional artists.

  • Complete the registration form for each piece of art. (An entry fee is applicable for each piece entered). All entries are due by June 2, 2023. Entry fees are non-refundable.
  • Deliver art to your depot by June 5, 2023. Art must be in Thompson by June 12, 2023.

All art must be original to the artist.

CATEGORIES

PAINTING:

Acrylic, Oil, Encaustic, mixed media, etc

WATERCOLOR:

Watercolor, ink painting, watercolor pencils, gouache

DRAWING & PRINTMAKING:

Ink, graphite or colored pencil, digital drawing with computer

CRAFTS:

Pottery, glass art, collage, paper Mache, caribou

tufting, moccasins, basketry etc. Design must be created by the artist.

FIBRE ART:

Quilting, batik, clothing, knitting, weaving, felting,

etc.

PHOTOGRAPHY:

Color, black & white, digitally enhanced please indicate on form if digitally altered.

SCULPTURE:

Soapstone, wood, clay, metal, wire, other 3-D materials

YOUTH

Youth ages 17 and under

CRITERIA 

• All artists that are residents of Manitoba north of the 53rd parallel are eligible, no matter

your level of expertise.

• Entries are limited to a maximum of 3 in each category with a total of six pieces altogether.

• There will be an artist's reception on Thursday June 22, 2023.

• Your work will be delivered to Thompson at no cost by Gardewine North. But you must provide your own insurance in transit.

• All work must be packed securely. The NJAS committee will not be responsible for any damage in transit or at the show. Check with your home insurance company to see if your work is covered.
